POSITIVE THOUGHTS
In todays world it is so easy to get bogged down with day to day life. We are bombarded with negatives on the television, newspapers and radio stations. You could be forgiven for thinking that there is nothing good out there but you would be wrong. I found when I took up Reiki that I became more positive in the way I looked at life. This week I was surprised to find that without me being aware of it I had stopped watching the news on TV. As I have a student from another country here he wanted to see the news so I had it on. Every single thing was sad, bad and negative. This is when I realised that although I do check the news on the web each day it is much less emotional so I can accept it and move on. You are also more likely to find lots of good things happening when you look at the news in writing . As the reporters take time just to put the words on paper they often look for fillers which are often good news stories. But good things don't always catch your attention on TV do they? Think of how many people watch reality shows that show people being upset. It is as if society lives on peoples distress. I'm sure the good news programmes don't attract such high audience numbers.
Take a few minutes to write down all the positive things in your life at this time. It may be to do with family, work, life or anything you like. Some of my positives are the great family and friends that I have, the fact that in my work I can help so many people and usually I like my attitude to life. Reflect on why these things are good and what they all bring into your life. Make a commitment to remember these things as you start each day and if your hear any negativity throughout the day try to find something positive in the situation.
